In the meantime, works are expected to commence soon for construction of a sewerage system in one refugee camp and water and sewerage systems in another refugee camp in the Syrian Arab Republic.

When the Palestinian Authority was formed, therefore, it had to start from scratch. The components of the economy were lacking starting with basic infrastructure like water and sewerage systems.
