So therefore, we have these two metabolisms, and I worked with a German chemist, Michael Braungart, and we've identified the two fundamental metabolisms.

We're dealing with living systems we're dealing with systems that evolve.

Because our gut is connected to our emotional limbic system, they do speak with each other and make decisions.

We can reform our electoral systems.

And the problem with it is, I think we are setting ourselves up for a kind of disaster like the disaster we had in the financial system, where we take a system that's basically built on trust, was basically built for a smaller scale system, and we've kind of expanded it way beyond the limits of how it was meant to operate.

This is a systemic risk, systemic shock.

So we might respond to it more as if this was a whole system, more as if this wasn't a large organism that we are going to be interacting with. It's a One.

And also they've made us dependent on systems that only they can deliver, that, as we've seen, are unsustainable.

So, our systems today are dramatically different than our systems a decade or two ago.

The microbes in your mouth can freshen your breath, or not, and the key thing is that our personal ecosystems interact with ecosystems on everything we touch.

All of it, our food system.

It's what we call a system.

If in 1999 I told you, let's build a data storage and retrieval system.

(g) Relationship with the United Nations system

The problem is, we created a system where we eliminated the right to have good values.

It is our adherence to mutual respect and the understanding of different cultures and traditions that enables us to have peaceful and friendly relations with all our neighbours.

But then, running in parallel to that is a second system that we've discovered, that's generic.

It is envisaged that direct links will be established between UNBIS and ODS in a new integrated library management system and then to other electronic services as well.

This is a backup system for world agriculture.

We need better surveillance.

We have much cleverer irrigation.

So we've built this system where we understand all the parts of it, but we're using it in a very, very different way than we expected to use it, and it's gotten a very, very different scale than it was designed for.

We also need to be clear about the role envisaged for the United Nations operational agencies and the issue of governance and accountability within the United Nations system, as well as better coordination, not only within the United Nations system but also between that system and non governmental organizations.

That's what makes our system work.

We don't have a working system here yet.

And Freud in part reflects the anatomy of the human emotion system which is that we have both a positive and a negative system, and our negative system is extremely sensitive.

We encourage those nations interested in a global tsunami warning system to work with the GEOSS consortium of 54 nations to develop the technical and data handling aspects of such a system.

You'd be surprised. We installed a new sprinkler system, fire escapes.

I'd suggest there are four things, and none of these things include an insurance system or a legal system.

We know more about mobile operating systems, but what we really need is a moral operating system.

Well we're now entering the era of systems medicine, or systems biology, where we can start to integrate all of this information.

(b) The system is interoperable with those in general use in the enacting State

Well that system is, I think, probably the system that kept us alive to this point, given our human tendencies.

We can start to see that system.

Not all of us were satisfied with the system.

We have built our education systems on the model of fast food.

A trigger and the system tips over, loses its resilience, soft corals take over, and we get undesired systems that cannot support economic and social development.

We didn't do this by actually writing code, like you do in a computer.

We view this system as an important stage in the establishment of a global disaster early warning system.

Such systems occur outside, and run parallel to, the normal banking sectors and generally remain unregulated they can take several forms.
