5. Reaffirms that the international community, Africa and its development partners should further cooperate with one another to achieve the objectives and priorities of the New Partnership, on the basis of the principles of ownership and partnership

Crafting partnerships among the African countries and between Africa and the rest of the international community lies at the core of NEPAD.

For aid effectiveness, harmonization is a must among development partners on the one hand and between recipient countries and development partners on the other.

Thirteen countries have joined as donors since the partnership began, and together they have pledged more than 250 million to the partnership's projects.
