Crossing miles and miles of sastrugi frozen ice snowdrifts that could be hip deep.

Icebergs, many, many, many, many times the size of this building, are roaring out to sea.

I've got to defrost it while Sam's away.

This is really the tip of the iceberg.

While glaciers that cover more than five square kilometers have lost 12 of their mass, those under one square kilometer have lost 38 percent. Applying the overall ratio of mass lost to area covered, this means that the smallest (and most numerous) Himalayan glaciers lost up to 57 of their mass between 1960 and 2004.

And they are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the global public health crisis facing humanity in the twenty first century.

And that's why we enjoy looking at glaciers and oceans, and contemplating the Earth from outside its perimeters, etc.
