The Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE) was founded in 1983 to ensure that the various bodies concerned with cinematographic activity belonging to the Federal Executive functioned in an integrated manner.

IMCINE's main activities include the promotion and dissemination of cinematographic culture at home and abroad to that end, it supports and organizes a number of cultural cinematographic events that bring it closer to the population.
