What programmes and policies have been implemented by the Department of Welfare and Labour Protection, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare's office on home workers, and are there plans to bring home workers and other workers in the informal sector under the Social Insurance Act?

The ILO also helped the Ministry of Labour to strengthen its labour market information system and to create an employment task force.

143. Unemployment benefits are dealt with by voivodeship and local labour offices which are subordinate to the National Labour Office, the central public administration body.

A number of points addressed in this recommendation are currently being addressed by ILO.

This is not sufficient if the Ministry is to address labour disputes in a comprehensive manner.

A large proportion of the International Labour Organization s (ILO) activities have been focused on Africa, where despite the hopes raised by the new era of democratization, the general decline in the economy and the worsening quality of working life have placed trade unions in a very difficult position.
