(c) Whether it is dependent upon the existence of an agreement, or of that agreement being put into effect.

37. This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature.

39. While the Agreement is in force, either of the Parties may terminate it by so notifying the other Party in writing.

The provisions of this Law may be derogated from or their effect may be varied by agreement, unless that agreement would not be valid or effective under applicable law.

The Agreement would be put into force in whole, i. e. its entire text would enter into force.

49. A new Social Security Act came into force in Iceland on 1 January 1994, in connection with the Agreement on the EEA, which came into force the same day.

The termination shall take effect 90 days after the receipt of such notification.

Entry into force of the Agreement

178. Iceland is a party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) which entered into force on 1 January 1994.

The Headquarters Agreement will come into force upon ratification by the German Parliament and adoption by the Conference of the Parties.

2. Emphasizes the importance of the early entry into force and effective implementation of the Agreement

38. This Agreement shall be valid for 17 months.

If, before the expiry of the ten year period referred to in paragraph 1 of this article, or before the expiry of an extension period referred to in paragraph 2 of this article, as the case may be, the new Agreement to replace this Agreement has been negotiated but has not yet entered into force either definitively or provisionally, the Council may, by special vote, extend this Agreement until the provisional or definitive entry into force of the new Agreement.

If, before the expiry of the four year period referred to in paragraph 1 of this article, or before the expiry of an extension period referred to in paragraph 2 of this article, as the case may be, the new Agreement to replace this Agreement has been negotiated but has not yet entered into force either definitively or provisionally, the Council may, by special vote, extend this Agreement until the provisional or definitive entry into force of the new Agreement.

In this regard, the Group urges all States that have yet to bring into force comprehensive safeguards agreements to do so as soon as possible.

In the past, when an international commodity agreement had been brought into force by a decision of the States concerned, it had been the practice to put the Agreement into force provisionally.

7. In the light of these developments, and acting on behalf of the Secretary General of the United Nations, he had convened the Meeting in order that the Governments concerned could decide to put the Agreement into force provisionally or definitively among themselves in whole or in part.

Meeting of the Parties shall make any arrangements that are necessary to give effect to such a decision by agreement with the Conference of the Parties to the Convention.

(a) Voluntary agreements with energy producers and importers and industry to improve energy efficiency

This Agreement shall be applied provisionally from the date of its signature together with the Protocol mentioned in article 1 of this Agreement, and shall enter into force on the date of the last written notification of the completion by the Parties of their domestic procedures necessary for its entry into force.

The Government Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation is the fundamental legal instrument for the negotiation and implementation of cooperation programmes.

Effect of a subordination agreement in insolvency proceedings

If the new Agreement is negotiated and enters into force during any period of extension of this Agreement under paragraph 2 or paragraph 3 of this article, this Agreement, as extended, shall terminate upon the entry into force of the new Agreement.

At its 5th meeting, on 29 October, the SBI took note of the entry into force of the Headquarters Agreement on 22 October 1997.

The Council may review the scope objectives of this Agreement years after its entry into force.

The Comprehensive Agreement on Human Rights, however, specifies that both its entry into force and its verification should be immediate.

In North America, a safe third country agreement between the United States and Canada entered into force in December 2004.

181. Icelandic participation in international cooperation projects has increased dramatically since the entry into force of the EEA.

If the man makes it a condition of the mukhala ah that he should keep the child with him during the period of custody, the mukhala ah shall be valid and the condition shall be invalidated.

It may be recalled that the COP, at its second session, by its decision 15 CP.2, approved the abovementioned Agreement, and the United Nations completed the formal requirements for entry into force of the Agreement in December 1996.

The Convention entered into force on 29 September 2003, the Trafficking in Persons Protocol on 25 December 2003, the Migrants Protocol on 28 January 2004 and the Firearms Protocol on 3 July 2005.

Thus, we in CARICOM look forward to the entry into force of that agreement.
