As part of its efforts to tailor training of trainers apos courses for specialized audiences, HC CHR is developing a series of training manuals for use by both instructors and participants.

Lastly, two trainers apos guides on human rights for civilian police and military trainers of peace keepers were developed in 1996 and produced in connection with the two training courses conducted in cooperation with the Department of Peace Keeping Operations, UNHCR and the ILO Training Centre.

Preference might also be given to the training of trainers.

The ESF at Amman training centre provided in service training to 644 UNRWA teachers, including 212 women, and pre service teacher education to 347 secondary school graduates, including 292 women.

The Educational Sciences Faculty (ESF) at the Amman Training Centre reached full capacity during the 1996 97 school year, providing in service training to 619 UNRWA teachers, including 164 women, and pre service teacher training to 257 secondary school graduates, including 207 women.

UNEP's training for cCustoms officers followeds the train the trainer approach, which aimsed at ensuring the sustainability of the training through the development of national trainers who wouldill in turn train the other customs officers and stakeholders in a number of national training workshops.
