The activities of non governmental organizations (NGOs) and associations are monitored by the Non governmental Liaison Office there are some 16,000 non governmental organizations and associations in Burkina Faso, including 346 foreign and 109 national non governmental organizations.

The Law Group is affiliated with the International Commission of Jurists, and maintains formal relations with the United Nations, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Organization of African Unity.

The Court will also need the assistance of other States in a position to assist the Court as well as that of international, regional and non governmental organizations.

The Unit has been working with the International Centre for Not for Profit Law since 1995 to analyse existing NGO laws in 100 countries.

That said, the question of State assistance to an international organization, or State direction, control or coercion of an international organization, in the commission of an internationally wrongful act appeared to raise questions relating to State responsibility rather than to the responsibility of international organizations, which was the subject of the draft articles currently under consideration.

I welcome the efforts of the Secretary General of the International Organization of la Francophonie to encourage States members of that Organization to respond to the Mission's need for additional French speaking police officers.
