Efficient technical and financial cooperation among developing countries, international institutions and developed countries is one of the requirements of financing for development.

Thematic initiatives would make it possible to attract additional resources from international financial institutions and donor countries.

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has articulated the comprehensive anti money laundering and counterterrorist financing standards that serve as the base upon which the international framework is built, and the United Nations has been particularly important in establishing the international framework for freezing terrorist assets.

21. We further reaffirm our commitment to sound policies, good governance at all levels and the rule of law, and to mobilize domestic resources, attract international flows, promote international trade as an engine for development and increase international financial and technical cooperation for development, sustainable debt financing and external debt relief and to enhance the coherence and consistency of the international monetary, financial and trading systems.

64. Those efforts must be supplemented by measures to accelerate the flow of private investment to developing countries through the use of such instruments as guarantees, co financing and insurance schemes by the international financial institutions.

Conventional multinational financial institutions are increasingly offering Islamic assets, and there is growing interest in them in London, Luxembourg, and other world financial capitals.

My Government urges financial institutions, international organizations and donor countries to accelerate the disbursement of pledged funds.
