Now, the Saturn system is a rich planetary system.

What you are seeing here is the shadow of the ring on Saturn itself.

The Cassini spacecraft is scheduled for launch, on its interplanetary mission to Saturn, in October 1997.

CASSINI HUYGENS is an interplanetary NASA ESA ASI mission for the study of Jupiter and its moon Titan.

But it visited Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

The mission will send a sophisticated robotic spacecraft equipped with 12 scientific experiments to orbit Saturn for a four year period and to study the Saturnian system in detail.

But as if that weren't brilliant enough, we can spot, in this beautiful image, sight of our own planet, cradled in the arms of Saturn's rings.

Now, two of the 47 moons that Saturn has are standouts.

The Subcommittee noted the following investigations by the United States the Mars Global Surveyor, for the global observation of Mars, and the Mars Pathfinder Mission the Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) mission, for the study and observation of asteroids Cassini Huygens, for the investigation of Saturn and its moons and the Lunar Prospector, for lunar exploration.

The Subcommittee noted missions planned for future launch, including Mars 96, Planet B, Mars Surveyor, Orbiter and Pathfinder, for investigation of Mars Lunar Prospector for lunar exploration Cassini Huygens, for investigation of Saturn and its moons and the Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR), Stardust and Rosetta missions to asteroids and comets.

So this is a Yellowstone, you know, of Saturn.

The mission began in October 1997 and, after a seven year journey, the CASSINI spacecraft with the HUYEGNS probe will reach Saturn in 2004 and explore the planet and its moons for four years.

This was a project to build a 4,000 ton nuclear bomb propelled spaceship and go to Saturn and Jupiter.

And those are Titan and Enceladus. Titan is Saturn's largest moon, and, until Cassini had arrived there, was the largest single expanse of unexplored terrain that we had remaining in our solar system.

It looks like Saturn because, of course, it is.

During the flight to Saturn the space vehicle will undergo gravity assists by Venus, Earth and Jupiter.
