So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise

and thereupon the blast of Our punishment overtook them at sunrise.

But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning,

But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning,

There was just one blast, and they were extinguished.

There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape,

It was just one scream, and with it they were extinguished.

So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring.

It was only one Cry and lo, they were silent and still.

For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching

It was but one shout, and lo! they were extinct.

It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring.

It was but one Saihah (shout, etc.) and lo! They (all) were silent (dead destroyed).

It will be a single Zajrah shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet) , and behold, they will be staring!

It was just one Cry, and they were stilled.

It will be a single nudge, and they will be staring.

There was but a single Blast and suddenly they became silent and still.

There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against).

It was but one Shout, and lo! they were extinct.
