During the ceremonies to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in southern Poland, the former Polish Foreign Minister Wladyslaw Bartoszewski reminded us, on behalf of the survivors, how Polish resistance had alerted the free world to the situation in Auschwitz but that no country in the world reacted adequately to the gravity of the situation.
