Women comprise a majority in other fields such as humanities (66.4 ), social studies (61.3 ) medicine (52.3 ), law (49.9 ) and life sciences.

Now, with perverse incentives undermining their credibility and hampering research, scientists must take matters into their own hands. Applying the scientific method to the problems of science could be scientists best hope for regaining public confidence and reinvigorating the quest for transformative discoveries.

In secondary schools and faculties (universities) women mostly choose humanities, while men usually choose technical and natural mathematical sciences.
