I wish death had put an end to me.

Alas, if only it had been just death.

If only we could return and be among the believers!

So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!

O that we might return again, and be among the believers!'

Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers.

(Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers!

If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.

If only we could return we would be among the believers.

Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers!

Had there been another turn for us, we would be among the faithful.

Would that we might return again, and be among the believers'

Then if we only had a return to the world and could be of the believers...

Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers.

But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers.

If we could only return to the world and be among the believers.

'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'

Have they not seen how many generations have We destroyed before them who will not return again?

Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, which will not return to them?

What, have they not seen how many generations We have destroyed before them, and that it is not unto them that they return?

Behold they not how many We have destroyed before them of the generations! verily Unto them they shall not return.

Do they not see how many of the generations We have destroyed before them? Verily, they will not return to them.

Have they not seen how many nations before them did We destroy? Thereafter they never came back to them.
