The Government is currently preparing Guidelines on Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) to address the remaining inequalities, including gender inequalities, in work.

One of the channels for achieving equal employment opportunities is vocational training for women.

In 1999, Japan s Equal Employment Opportunity Act was amended to provide equal employment opportunities for men and women by prohibiting discriminatory labor practices. But the legislation has had little impact on the workplace atmosphere for women.
