Following a review of the applications, the National Elections Commission approved 22 presidential candidates, 22 vice presidential candidates, 205 candidates for the Senate and 513 candidates for the House of Representatives.

The 2016 presidential election campaign not only has more candidates than ever it also has the highest proportion in memory who are flat out unqualified for the job. And some of them are doing very well at this point.
