What you see here looks nothing like an incubator.

That is the primary function of an incubator.

So, you're not going to find them in rural areas of developing countries.

But traditional incubators require electricity and cost up to 20 thousand dollars.

So they started to think, Could we build a neonatal incubator that's built entirely out of automobile parts?

She took her baby to the nearest village clinic, and the doctor advised her to take Rani to a city hospital so she could be placed in an incubator.

We plan to launch this product in India in 2010, and the target price point will be 25 dollars, less than 0.1 percent of the cost of a traditional incubator.

One of the things that's very frustrating about this is that we know, by getting modern neonatal incubators into any context, if we can keep premature babies warm, basically it's very simple we can halve infant mortality rates in those environments.

And incubator costs 2,000 dollars.

Not only will it raise itself to 115 Fahrenheit, 43 or 44 degrees Centigrade, for two days, but it keeps constant temperature.

We needed something that was portable, something that could be sterilized and reused across multiple babies and something ultra low cost, compared to the 20,000 dollars that an incubator in the U.S. costs.

And I use a heat mat to sit the bath on and a thermostat to regulate it.

From this, we're able to then fragment that brain into further pieces, which then we can put on a smaller cryostat.

Contact thermometers differ from regular thermometers in that they are connected to a heating coil, and are hence able to both sense and control the current temperature. In doing so, they allow experiments to be performed under a constant temperature. Contact thermometers work using a negative feedback loop once the desired temperature has been reached, the heating coil is deactivated when the temperature falls, the heating coil is reactivated.

We take them from nature, and the only thing that we do, we give them the optimal conditions, under the greenhouses or in the climate rooms, in order to proliferate, multiply and reproduce.
