HOW TO MAKE OR PLEDGE A CONTRIBUTION TO THE FUND

I call on all donors to fulfil their pledges and to increase them.

New donors are encouraged to contribute for the first time, and former donors are encouraged to contribute on a regular basis and, if possible, to increase their contributions.

Of the 50 countries that pledged, 13 increased, 28 maintained and 1 decreased their pledges, with 7 resuming their pledges and 1 pledging for the first time.

It hoped that at the pledging conference for UNRWA activities, to be held at United Nations Headquarters later this year, new donors would make first time pledges and others would increase theirs.

Figure 7 represents the top 10 donors that contributed to other donor resources in 2004.

In 2004, 166 donor countries made pledges to UNFPA the same range of donors is expected for 2005.

Donor contributions must be quickly made available, be sustainable and predictable.
