(a) Raise the profile of the United Nations system for the standardized reporting of military expenditures

UNMISET incurred expenditure of 81.6 million for the year under review.

The Advisory Committee noted that the Secretariat submitted an expenditure report for that period rather than a financial performance report.

Mr. Vigny (Switzerland) congratulated the Special Rapporteur for his report and assured him of Switzerland's support in his mandate.

Asked why the 2004 financial report reflected provisional results only, the Director a.i. replied that the results were based on provisional Revenue and Expenditure Reports (RERs) of National Committees and that next year's financial report would include adjusted 2004 results based on the final RERs.

It was noted that at the date of the finalization of the financial statement of UNDCP, programme expenditure amounting to 6,077,775, out of a total of 102,876,710 incurred by executing agencies, was not supported by audited statements.

The Committee notes that expenditures reported include the unliquidated obligations of 15,673,100 indicated in annex V to the report.
