I. International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization

UNIDO regularly conducts training programmes in technology transfer.

In addition to the existing Somali Open Learning Unit training, UNESCO also developed additional teacher training materials.

Under the WMO Education and Training Programme, the WMO Regional Meteorological Training Centre (RMTC) at Nanjing, China, is planning a one month International Training Course on Satellite Meteorology, in 1998, and WMO European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) is planning a Regional Training Course on Satellite Meteorology at Niamey, in 1998.

From 15 to 26 April, the second part of the training of trainers on human rights for non governmental organizations took place in Amman.

This experience will be used in cooperation with UNITAR and also the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The World Trade Organization organizes a number of Geneva based training courses (see WT COMTD W 139).

(iii) Providing educational and training programmes on occupational safety and health to employees, employers and their organizations and also to professional bodies

It is intended that graduates of the courses, assisted by IMO experts, will then train further instructors on a regional and sub regional basis, as well as delivering IMO model courses relating to maritime security in their own national training centres.

The present report describes the organization of the training course, its technical contents, and the projects undertaken by the participants during the course.

Group training

In addition to its annual human rights training programme for non governmental activist organizations in Montreal, it organizes training sessions in South East Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and francophone Africa.

The project would be undertaken in cooperation with UNITAR, which would take the lead in developing the relevant training materials and in organizing the five meetings.

Existing staff resources should be reorganized accordingly and training be provided as appropriate.

One of the priorities of LIDLIP is to ensure that follow up is provided after its training sessions so that participants can apply what they have learned in their home environments.
