The inter committee meeting further recommended that the fifth inter committee meeting consider developing harmonized criteria for the participation of national human rights institutions in treaty body sessions in order to enhance the quality of information provided to the treaty bodies.

The meetings of the Inter Agency Working Group on Evaluation take place on an annual basis.

Invited the SBI, in light of the division of labour between the SBSTA and the SBI, to consider this document at its next session.

The SBI took note of the report of the workshop on the organization of the intergovernmental process, held in conjunction with the twenty first session of the SBI.

The participants expressed their appreciation to the Office for Outer Space Affairs for hosting the twenty fifth session of the Inter Agency Meeting.

The Subcommittee noted the agreement of the Meeting that informal open sessions, held in conjunction with the annual sessions of the Inter Agency Meeting, provided a constructive mechanism for promoting dialogue between United Nations entities and the member States of the Committee.

II. CONSIDERATION OF AN INTER AGENCY SPACE APPLICATIONS PROJECT

(a) Consideration of inter agency space applications projects

(v) Substantive servicing of inter agency meetings convening of separate meetings of the Inter agency Collaborative Group, as appropriate (1) organization and convening of technical meetings of Caribbean small island developing States and meetings between them and the agencies of the Inter agency Collaborative Group with responsibility, under their respective mandates, for the implementation of specific aspects of sustainable development in the subregion (1)

The meeting produced an inter agency action plan addressing the prevention of separation, inter agency collaboration, fostering, reunification and reintegration.

307. During the session, the Committee held a meeting with United Nations bodies and specialized agencies as well as other competent bodies in the framework of its ongoing dialogue with these bodies in the light of article 45 of the Convention.

At its fifth session, the SBSTA urged the secretariat to complete work on this agenda by the sixth session of the subsidiary bodies and, in the light of the division of labour between the SBI and the SBSTA, invited the SBI to consider this agenda item.

The Meeting also took note of the current status of the project for disaster prevention, mitigation and relief, which had originally been proposed by the Office at the seventeenth session of the Meeting as an inter agency space applications project.

III. PROPOSALS OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL BODIES

In particular, the Representative has participated in the meetings of the Inter Agency Standing Committee (IASC).

(g) Assisting in the servicing of meetings of the organs of the intergovernmental machinery of the Commission

Intersessional meetings of main or subordinate bodies should be funded through voluntary contributions, or not held at all.

The inter committee meeting recommended that engagement with national human rights institutions should continue and requested the Secretariat to arrange for such institutions to attend future inter committee meetings when appropriate items are on the agenda.

In addition, the preparatory body will need to consider its agenda and timetable for its second session.
