The note verbale referenced the United Nations report, which contained the reporting instrument, but did not retransmit either the reporting instrument or the instructions.

It compiles and synthesizes information presented in the 122 initial national communications submitted to the secretariat by 1 April 2005.

Together with ECE, UNCTAD has cooperated in the preparation of a Transport Glossary with Eurostat (Statistical Office of the European Communities) and the ECMT (European Conference of Ministers of Transport).

They reviewed the notifications and supplementary data that had been submitted by the notifying Parties and compiled for consideration.

In accordance with these decisions, a compilation and synthesis of the first 33 national communications from Annex I Parties was prepared (FCCC CP 1996 12 and Add.1 and 2).

A second such compilation and synthesis was submitted to the second session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) in which it considered the national communications of 33 Annex I Parties.

Summary In accordance with decision 2 CP.1 of the Conference of the Parties (see FCCC CP 1995 7 Add.1), the full draft of this report was communicated to the Government of Luxembourg, which had no further comments.
