The dispersants make the oil go right under the booms.

This water was polluted by oil.

And gratefully, it didn't.

There is ample opportunity for oil and dirty water to get in behind them.

More than 700 of these boats, which are fishermen boats repurposed with oil absorbent in white and oil containment in orange, were used, but they only collected three percent of the oil on the surface, and the health of the cleaners were very deeply affected.

C. Pollution from offshore oil and gas activities

The petroleum products are poor in quality due to high sulfur content and become one of the causes of environmental pollution.

On 5 April 2005, amendments to regulation 13G (on the accelerated phase out of single hull oil tankers) and the new regulation 13H (on prevention of pollution from tankers carrying heavy grade oil as cargo) of annex I to MARPOL (see A 59 62, paras. 144, 145 and 172 174) entered into force.

MARPOL regulates the discharge of oil and other harmful substances from vessels in its annexes I (oil), II (noxious liquid substances), III (harmful substances carried by sea in packaged form), IV (sewage) and V (garbage).

With regard to the damage to its marine subtidal habitats, Saudi Arabia estimates that the natural recovery period is 30 years and the period of recovery after remediation is 15 years.
