During his March 2004 visit, the Special Envoy met with then Prime Minister General Khin Nyunt and other senior government officials, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and other leaders of the National League for Democracy (NLD) as well as with members of the National Unity Party and the United Nationalities Alliance, a group of eight ethnic nationality political parties.
