The Statistics Division is developing a worldwide database for trade in services in cooperation with OECD to complement the United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics Database (Comtrade) merchandise trade database.

In addition, OECD is consolidating its main databases into a single common structured query language based data warehouse, OECD.STAT, a project that is expected to be completed in 2006.

3. Database and non governmental organization directory

In this area, Turkmenistan is closely cooperating with the United Nations and other international organizations in implementing its national health programme.

In the humanitarian field, Turkmenistan was working to promote meaningful dialogue with international organizations, in particular the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

While efforts have been made in recent years to integrate some of the databases within the same department or agency, the creation of a single database encompassing all NGOs working with the United Nations system would neither be feasible nor necessarily useful.

The library does not export a factory for creating components.
