23. The Advisory Committee notes from paragraph 76 of document A AC.96 900 that UNHCR has now taken a position on IMIS, concluding that IMIS is not an appropriate solution for UNHCR apos s information technology needs.

As the data were already computerized, they could be provided in the short term, although no aggregated data with regard to the right to education as such would yet be available.

Its comprehensive index facilitates access to sources in virtually all areas of the Organization apos s work.

These guidelines, advocacy and informational material are designed to promoting integrated conference implementation at the country level.

24.6 IRINs were established in Nairobi and Abidjan to monitor the emergencies in eastern and western Africa respectively. IRINs publish twice daily reports containing up to date operational information and regional analyses of emergency situations.

Until IMIS is implemented at those locations, the budgetary information for the offices away from Headquarters has to be processed in the existing general accounting system.

Information derived from imaging radar, such as synthetic aperture radar (SAR), is very different from that obtained from optical sensors, since an SAR is particularly sensitive to the geometrical characteristics of the surface and the object being monitored as well as to their dielectric properties.

3. The United Nations recognizes the World Tourism Organization as the appropriate organization to collect, to analyse, to publish, to standardize and to improve the statistics of tourism and to promote the integration of these statistics within the sphere of the United Nations system.
