This is a field of poppies in Afghanistan.

We also endorse the efforts made by the Government of Afghanistan and the international community to end poppy cultivation, to build relevant judicial and police capacity and to provide sustainable alternative livelihoods for those engaged in poppy cultivation.

Opium poppy cultivation in Viet Nam declined in 1995, owing mainly to massive eradication campaigns in 1995, 2,000 hectares of opium cultivation were reported (with a potential production capacity of 10 tonnes), compared with 15,000 hectares in 1992.
