As our relations of friendship and cooperation with Africa grow, let me reaffirm our commitment to working with all partners towards the implementation and the success of NEPAD.

This issue is determined with the new General collective contract that is being discussed by partners in social dialogues, and which passing is expected to be soon.

The Ministry of Health supports PEN under the coordination of the National AIDS Programme and has obtained new resources for implementing priorities actions from the Global Fund and Government counterpart funds, in addition to other resources provided by international cooperation.

The strategy provides for ways to consolidate and strengthen the Organization's information work in support of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD).

To do this effectively, it needs the support of Member States and, in particular, the Committee on Information, its partner in this vital task.

Although NEPAD is not the first statement of a collective response by African leaders to the development challenges of the region, the chances of successful implementation of NEPAD are better and the case for concerted international support stronger for a number of reasons.

The partners and stakeholders attribute much of the credit for the increase in voluntary contributions over the past four years, as well as for the new partnership agreements, to her leadership.

The Nova Scotia Native Women's Association is a partner in the Tripartite process.

For that reason, measures have always been taken to involve development partners both within and outside the United Nations system.
