Sometimes the whole plant mimics an insect, even to us.

The pests that the standard seeks to control are typically insect pests and other pests and diseases vectored by insects.

And after a few days, depending upon temperature, the egg will hatch and the larva of this parasite will eat the aphid from the inside.

And, in places where there are worms, intestinal worms, cure the kids of their worms.

This is a locust. There can be 80 million of them in a square kilometer, and yet they don't collide with one another.

They sporulated, the spores attract insects, the insects laid eggs, eggs became larvae.

Here is a pest, devastating pest, a spider mite, because it does a lot of webbing like a spider.

We eat insects they're so distantly related from us that this doesn't happen.

They're just parasite hotels even their parasites have parasites.

And look, this flower is flooded with predatory bugs, with the good ones after wiping out the bad ones, the thrips.

But you don't want to get all of the insects.

So this animal is going to live twice as long.

And in fact, without insects, we would not be here in this room, because if the insects die out, we will soon die out as well.

Now, it's much more efficient if you can get insects to do your bidding.

I'm obsessed with insects, particularly insect flight.

Larvicides New larvicides, such as microbial products or insect development inhibitors (IDI), are now available that are more environmentally friendly.

Again, we'll start first with the pest the thrips.

I became interested in entomopathogenic fungi fungi that kill insects.

These infections are known as the Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). They are unfamiliar to the developed world, and their names are often difficult to pronounce filariasis (elephantiasis), onchocerciasis (river blindness), schistosomiasis (bilharzia), and others, particularly intestinal worms.

And, in fact, the animals we were working with in the lab these little garden worms, nematodes they were also dead when we exposed them to low oxygen.

Without insects, there'd be no flowering plants.
