Do you know the difference between a microscope and a telescope?

I can tell you for a fact, that the next one that they're planning is called The Extremely Large Telescope.

The camera is always on.

So, it's kind of like very fancy eyeglasses for your telescope.

It's a new telescope.

And that's Curtis Wong, WorldWide Telescope.

Now, this is wonderful, because the campaign promise of large telescopes is that is that the bigger the telescope, the smaller the detail that we can see.

You can use a telescope to look at the stars.

And you wouldn't believe it, but the one after that is going to be called The Overwhelmingly Large Telescope.

The telescope is actually built similarly to the, well known to you, Hubble Space Telescope, except it does have an additional lens a wide field lens, as you would call it as a photographer.

Coin sized mirrors on the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 and Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacements units have since served as quot contact lenses quot for HST.

These are four 8.2 meter telescopes.

An extraordinary set of telescopes.

And so, here's an image from the Hubble Space Telescope.

The Very Large Telescope is one of these things that astronomers do they name their telescopes rather unimaginatively.

And so WorldWide Telescope will be available this spring.

The prototype 3 meters diameter LMMT now in operation at NASA apos s JSC is the 17th largest telescope in the world. It was built at a cost of about 500,000 1 100th the cost of comparable Earth based astronomical telescopes.

Many of these findings preceded the highly successful servicing mission in December 1993 when astronauts on STS 61 replaced several faulty parts and installed a sophisticated package of corrective optics to compensate for the spherical aberration in HST apos s primary mirror.

But he found 140 comets without a telescope.

The telescope, going up in space, it unfolds in two places.

And one piece of engineering that I want to leave you with as regards this telescope is the mirror.

And finally, for future endeavors, there are telescopes being designed specifically to address the questions of dark matter and dark energy ground based telescopes, and there are three space based telescopes that are in competition right now to be launched to investigate dark matter and dark energy.

Because they thought that if you are having a telescope, you are an astronomer so what you are doing is actually looking in a telescope.

It's like building a microscope or telescope and revealing new structures about our own behavior around communication.

But this is a five meter telescope has about a quarter mile focal length.

So, we want to build a 30 meter telescope.

With the Hubble Space Telescope, we're looking at hundreds of millions of years to a billion years.

This is the integration of WorldWide Telescope into our maps.

My talk is Flapping Birds and Space Telescopes.

Many of the images you are seeing are earlier from the Hubble Space Telescope.

The WorldWide Telescope takes the best images from the world's greatest telescopes on Earth and in space, and has woven them seamlessly to produce a holistic view of the universe.

This Liquid Metal Mirror Telescope (LMMT) concept is based on the research of Dr. E.F. Borra of Laval University in Quebec, Canada, in the area of liquid mercury mirrors.

They draw pictures of what they're observing with their eyes, through technology like telescopes and microscopes, and also what they're thinking about in their minds.

And the thing I want you to look at here is the telescope on the right hand side.

This is the Keck observatory. It hosts two telescopes with a mirror 10 meters, which is roughly the diameter of a tennis court.

HST has the unique capability of imaging and measuring the spectra of distant supernovae in ultraviolet light.

Could you image if we looked through the Hubble Telescope and we saw that?

Observational work in the thermal infrared spectral region with telescopes such as Keck and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States of America Infrared Telescope Facility, both on Mauna Kea in Hawaii, and the NASA Spitzer Space Telescope currently represents one of the major areas of activity.

In this Hubble image, we see two galaxies.

The wireless telescope was a digital camera I had tucked in my pocket.

The dry air is really good for telescopes, and also, the cloud cover is below the summit of these mountains so that the telescopes have about 300 days of clear skies.

Their work includes observation campaigns for physical characterization of NEOs using major ground based and space borne astronomical telescopes, for which observation time is awarded on a competitive basis.

However, it was only at the beginning of 2002 that the first Target of Opportunity programme started, using the 2.5 m Isaac Newton Telescope and the 1.0 m Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope facilities at La Palma, Spain.
