The activities of non bank credit and financial institutions are regulated by section IV of the Banking Code.

Regarding currency transaction report, Central Bank Circular Letter 3098, from June 11th, 2003, established these obligations for financial institutions (banking and non banking financial institutions).

(b) What institutional linkages with, for example, multilateral development banks should be developed and, if so, what should be the objective of such cooperation?

In fact, the Inter American Development Bank together with the World Bank had launched the inter agency network on indigenous issues which held its first inter agency meeting in Washington, D.C., in 1991.

The Act also included regulatory measures over banks and non bank financial institutions in compliance with relevant international instruments.

Moreover, there already is a proliferation of regional development banks, from the Inter American Development Bank and the Asian Development Bank to the more modestly capitalized African Development Bank. These institutions cooperate with the World Bank.

The phenomenon of hand delivery is important in countries where the use of banks isn't widespread because of a lack of institutions, above all in remote areas.

Four distinct types of microfinance institutions are operating in the countries of North and Central Asia credit unions, non governmental organization MFIs, commercial banks and microfinance banks.

The Islamic Development Bank was one of the contributors to that fund.

So far, only a few registered financial institutions, primarily offshoots of Western commercial banks, have access to such payment system facilities. Non banking financial institutions such as foreign exchange bureaus, post offices, and micro finance lenders are not admitted, even when they are financially sound and sustainable.

Currently the Republic of China is contributing capital to regional development programmes through institutions such as the Asian Development Bank, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, the Inter American Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The Board of the Central Bank appoints the head and members of the sub division.

(c) Role and resources of multilateral financial institutions, including regional development banks

A European banking agency would break up the incestuous relationship between banks and regulators that was at the root of the excesses that fueled the current crisis. And it would interfere much less with national sovereignty than would the subordination of fiscal policies to an EU or eurozone wide authority.
