The adoption of another Council regulation (regarding the freezing of assets and related measures) is still being considered.

1. Expresses concern at the low implementation rate of the projects undertaken through the Development Account

The Executive Board adopted decision 2005 36 on the UNOPS plan of action.

The project aims to speed clearance through the introduction of streamlined procedures and computerization.

In some projects it was found useful to require the project company to appoint an independent project manager, through whom all communications with the relevant governmental entity would be channelled.

Of the 12 Goals relevant to our country, we have already achieved seven, four are in the process of being achieved, and we need to undertake further effort on one.

Under the section Article 3.3 and 3.4 issuance or cancellation', each Annex I Party shall report information on its LULUCF activities, by individual activity, in accordance with the annex to decision CMP.1 (Land use, land use change and forestry), and with its election of activities pursuant to paragraph 8 (c) and (d) of the annex to decision CMP.1 (Modalities for the accounting of assigned amounts)

Projects were being conducted on flooding in Bangladesh, on spontaneous coal combustion in China, on earthquakes in Colombia, on landslides in Colombia and Nepal and on volcanic eruptions in the Philippines.

A Consortium member or a collaborating organization is authorized to incur expenditures under any budget subline up to a maximum of 20 per cent over and above the amount foreseen in the project (sub project) provided the total cost of the project (sub project) is not exceeded.

The secretariat continued to provide technical cooperation through project activities under (a) the Norway funded project on assessment of trade facilitation needs and priorities (Project INT 0T 2CS) (b) the Sweden funded project on the establishment of trade facilitation platforms (Project INT 0T 3BJ) and (c) the Islamic Development Bank funded project on international multimodal transport operations in the ECO region (Project RAS 0T 1BR).

Statements made on behalf of a group of delegations or made in connection with the sub items under the agenda item on human rights questions should not exceed fifteen minutes.

It was noted that future work with transit countries was envisaged regarding technical assistance on the implementation of transit arrangements and regarding a project on transit corridors.

51. The United Nations Office of Project Services (UNOPS) is providing operational services for well over three hundred active projects and programmes related to democracy and governance, at an estimated annual budgetary volume in excess of US 100 million.

Current projects targeted the upgrading to the latest version of the programme by implementing ASYCUDA .
