Higher vocational education in the country is performed on the basis of general secondary, beginning vocational and secondary vocational education, and colleges of higher vocational schools and in State institutions of higher vocational education, including private institutions.

All these streams lead to the Baccalauréat.

The percentages do not improve in secondary school, although the percentage of students who receive the Brevet d'Etude du Premier Cycle (School leaving certificate) and the Baccalauréat (High school diploma) is slightly higher than the percentage of students who pass into Grade Six and receive the Certificat de Fin d'Etude du Premier Degré (Primary school diploma).

The proportion of women is the highest among the graduates of upper secondary schools, but also in diploma, Bachelor's, and Master's studies.

In choosing occupational training, women of Kazakhstan are guided by personal beliefs only. Women's numbers predominate in the medical, teaching, and humanities specialties.

Vocational Secondary Education

Advanced training for degreed pre school employees is conducted at least once every five years in advanced training courses for secondary education administrators and teaching personnel.
