As to the kind of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances they used, it was cannabis (52.8 per cent), ecstasy (18.4 per cent), diazepam (9.4 per cent).

In the area of drug control, Jordan had adopted a national plan of action against narcotic drugs with the aim of eliminating drug use, reducing supply and facilitating treatment of addicts.

The Commission on Narcotic Drugs,

(a) the ratification of the UN Convention on the prohibition of Trafficking and the Illicit Use of Narcotics and Drugs

Aware of the importance attached by the International Narcotics Control Board to efforts by Governments to prevent the use of the Internet for the purpose of promoting the abuse of and trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances,

The Commission on Narcotic Drugs considers the reports of its subsidiary bodies annually.

Requests the International Narcotics Control Board to review the information provided by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on the precursors in question from a technical viewpoint and to communicate the results to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs so that the Commission may consider putting those precursors under the control of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988

In addition, substance use abuse of narcotics and psychotropic drugs is significant among adolescents.

The Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961, the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971 and the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988, which have been ratified by nearly all Member States, provide the legal framework for international drug control.

(c) Commission on Narcotic Drugs and the Subcommission on Illicit Drug Traffic and Related Matters in the Near and Middle East
