The following example demonstrates the usage of Java's exception handler from within PHP

This function is useful when you need to generate a particular response to an exception at runtime. For example

It's common to most socket implementations that the only exception caught with the except array is out of bound data received on a socket.

蛁 This function will not work under Windows, which does not implement unix domain sockets. A possible exception to this rule is if your PHP binary was built using cygwin. You are encouraged to consider this aspect of the portability of your extension before it's release.

ע There is no ODBC involved when connecting to the above databases. The functions that you use to speak natively to them just happen to share the same names and syntax as the ODBC functions.
