The participants considered two test proposals (the Geostationary Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer (GIFTS) and the Geostationary Observatory for Microwave Atmospheric Sounding (GOMAS)) and concluded that they represented important opportunities for collaboration on enhancing the Global Observing System, with capabilities identified as crucial in the evolution of the World Weather Watch Global Observing System.
