Provision is made to cover barbering services ( 15,684), tailoring services ( 29,808), laundry services ( 61,000), garbage removal at the base camps ( 69,120), kitchen helpers ( 24,000) and data input clerk for the Reality system ( 15,120).

36. The intended integration of the IMIS and the Reality system should be organized to provide for a common database to allow multiple users from field missions, the Field Administration and Logistics Division, the Purchase Division and the Accounts Division to access data on procurement from the requisitioning to the payment stages.

20. The Administration has stated that the reporting facility in the Reality system, the Division s procurement software, provides comprehensive information on the purchase orders, such as the basis of award whether lowest acceptable bidder or any of the eight permissible exceptions to bidding, which are recorded at the time of creating the purchase orders.

The recorded expenditure relates to the purchase of spare parts, repairs and maintenance for (a) generators ( 449,900) (b) office equipment ( 241,200) (c) data processing equipment ( 41,700) (d) refrigeration equipment ( 15,500) (e) water purification equipment ( 172,700) (f) miscellaneous equipment, including air conditioners and fire safety equipment ( 158,100) and (g) maintenance fees for the Progen and Reality systems ( 7,300).

In this regard, the Secretary General would like to observe that such training has been intensified so that, during the past six months, procurement officers were afforded the opportunity to attend 10 separate seminars on such varied matters as cost and price analysis, personnel management, conflict resolution, including arbitration, and the United Nations Integrated Management Information System Reality computerized procurement system.
