In view of the paramount importance of attaining ecological sustainability in the Baltic Sea region, the ministers also considered the potential role of the Helsinki Commission in the Baltic Agenda 21, a comprehensive vision of sustainable development in the entire Baltic Sea region, translated into practical actions to change regional economic policy.

Westernize the Black Sea Region

12. In September 1998, the Special Rapporteur is invited to participate as co rapporteur of the Conference on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in the Baltic Sea Region, to be held in Tallinn, Estonia.

The action plan will be a major tool in applying the ecosystem approach within the Baltic Sea ecoregion.

Estonia actively participates in the fight against trafficking in human beings in the Nordic and Baltic region.

I find it difficult to accept those who tend to describe the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact as only a measure to build up Soviet national security.
