95. Commercial freight and cartage. Utilization of surplus mission and United Nations Logistics Base stocks considerably reduced purchase costs of imported equipment. However, additional requirements in the amount of 84,900 were needed to cover associated freight charges.

Provision is made for purchase of a high pressure steam cleaner for communications equipment, inclusive of freight costs at 15 per cent.

The provision under this heading also includes related freight costs calculated at 15 per cent of the total value of the equipment ( 42,800).

The decrease under general operating expenses is due, inter alia, to reduction under communications, maintenance of vehicles and freight and related costs.

Provision under the heading commercial freight and cartage , therefore, reflects recurrent costs not covered elsewhere for the miscellaneous shipping, freight forwarding and customs clearance charges at the monthly rate of 15,000 indicated in section A of the present annex.
