These changes resulted in a net increase of 802 person months without additional cost because of the lower cost of local staff.

This estimate comprised a proposed maintenance budget of 10,220,700 gross ( 9,744,500 net) and a one time backlog clearance cost of 4,283,200 gross ( 4,207,500 net).

At this price, the net is very cost effective, if the additional cost and difficulties of retreating traditional nets are taken into account.

The cost of these eight temporary posts would amount to 2,318,100, net of staff assessment.

18. The total cost of the activities is estimated at 9,315,100 (net of staff assessment).

The net operational budget estimates of 19,216,920 represent a net reduction of 2,295,450, or 10.7 per cent in real terms, i.e. at 2004 2005 cost levels.

The total additional requirements requested by UNCIFYP amount to 4,464,600 gross ( 4,685,300 net), including 3,755,100 gross ( 3,975,800 net) resulting from the modified cost parameters and 709,500 for the cost of the emergency construction project during the 2004 05 financial period.

The cost estimates contained in document A 52 512 for UNSMIH remain unchanged at 4,653,400 gross ( 4,433,800 net), as do the cost estimates of 8,831,100 gross ( 8,462,300 net) for UNTMIH for the period from 1 August to 30 November 1997.

2. Direct environment related operating or management costs as of sales, value added, net earnings, divisional earnings or other unit of output costs, e.g. production cost or site cost of sales

The total cost of these proposals would have been a net reduction of 20,600 in the administrative costs, under the proposed UN UNJSPF cost sharing arrangements (see para. 204 (a) above).

The increases in cost recovery, described in the following paragraph, bring this down to a net increase of 7.6 per cent.

The cost of maintaining MIPONUH from 1 July 1998 through the end of the mandate on 30 November 1998 is estimated at 11,883,500 gross ( 11,383,100 net) and the cost of the liquidation of the mission from 1 December 1998 to 30 June 1999 is estimated at 6,641,300 gross ( 6,396,100 net).

23. The revised cost of UNMOT for the period from 1 July 1997 to 30 June 1998 is estimated at 19,887,800 gross ( 18,954,000 net).

(c) Net effect of changes in the value of United States dollar and cost of living adjustments for pensioners, and other gains affecting pensioners

The total change in the gross appropriation from 2004 2005 (after adjustment for security) amounts to an increase of 95.4 million, comprised of the net result of volume increases of 9.8 million and net cost increases of 85.7 million.

By the same resolution, the Assembly also decided to apportion the amount of 18,421,300 gross ( 16,533,100 net), representing one third of the cost of the Mission, to be assessed on Member States at the monthly rate of 1,535,108 gross ( 1,377,758 net).

To give an example, over the past three years the cost of net imports of oil for Panama has shown a 250 per cent increase.

Common staff cost requirements have been estimated at 63 per cent of net salaries and are based on the actual expenditure patterns in the prior periods.
