The curriculum for the compulsory school is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture.

Education in Qatar is guaranteed to all students, and it is compulsory at the primary and secondary levels.

342. The Danish Folkeskole is a comprehensive school which includes the entire period of compulsory schooling, i.e. both primary and lower secondary education.

Article 3 of the Constitution establishes that pre school, primary and secondary education are compulsory.

The Ministry of Education should ensure that schools include accurate and objective sexual education in their curricula.

12. In educational terms, instruction in minority schools is designed both as bilingual and monolingual instruction.

In addition, China is constantly imposing its birth registration system, which can be of great help in practically determining the ages of child victims of crime (in this context, please refer to paragraphs 52 59 of the second periodic report of the People's Republic of China regarding implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child).

The state exercises direct oversight and provides funding for vocational schools, establishments of secondary vocational education, special schools as well as programmes of national education, special education and educational programmes of social correction.

In secondary vocational institutions (training schools, technical schools and colleges, and other educational institutions equivalent to them), citizens may obtain a specialty on the basis of general basic, general secondary and beginning vocational education.

Beginning vocational education is made available to citizens in keeping with their interests, wishes and capabilities on the basis of basic and general secondary education provided in vocational lycées, vocational schools, special vocational schools and training complexes, centres and other educational institutions equivalent to them.

As a rule, German is the language of instruction at schools offering general education, at vocational schools and at universities.

In accordance with the Satversme primary education is compulsory.

Minorities can establish their own schools these include schools providing a general education but in addition offering religious instruction for Christian pupils (subject to parental agreement) and instruction in ethics for non Christians, and also religious establishments such as seminaries providing religious instruction.

In accordance with the Law On General Education of 10 June 1999, in Latvia primary education may be acquired at an educational establishment (an establishment of primary education, an establishment of secondary education, an establishment of vocational education or a special educational establishment shift school, a boarding school, an establishment or a class of social or pedagogical correction) where primary educational programmes are implemented.

In particular, the Ministry of Education makes puberty related education a major focal point of health education classes in schools.

343. Private schools catering for children of compulsory school age may offer the entire form range of the Folkeskole, i.e. the first to ninth tenth year, thus both primary and lower secondary education.
