11. Cash received against pledges is recorded at the dollar equivalent calculated at the United Nations operational rate of exchange prevailing on the date of receipt.

This translates, from the year 2006, to an average annual growth of 4 percent in gross proceeds and net operating income.

It appears that the assets freeze has not been very effective.

Realized exchange gains and losses are charged to miscellaneous income and operating expense accounts, accordingly.

(27) As regards other business income, it is required to list by category (like income from transfer of intangible assets, lease income and guarantee income) the amount at current year, the amount at last year and the percentage increase or decrease item by item.

Approximately 25 per cent of the 4,000 indigenous workers are employed in tourism, 16 per cent in the civil service and 10 per cent in part time agriculture and 5 per cent are on income support.

2. Operational reserve and annual surpluses of income over expenditure

Forest operations and the forest industry provide employment and income to millions of workers and forest dwellers.

Unearmarked income which includes funds from voluntary annual contributions of Governments, the net income from greeting card and related operations, funds contributed by the public and certain other (or miscellaneous) income .

Interest income is received from temporary surpluses and operating reserves, invested by the Treasury of the United Nations in accordance with the Financial Rules of the United Nations and the guidance received by UNDCP.

The Juba Valley Alliance currently controls the Kismaayo seaport and derives revenue of approximately 500,000 per month from the port operations.

The Committee noted that a number of higher and middle income countries benefited from the debt burden adjustment.

Wholesale receipts had the largest gain at 44.5 per cent, followed by retail sales at 10.1 per cent and services at 8.2 per cent.14

Operational budget income from support cost earned from technical cooperation delivery and other income amounted to 9.3 million in 2004.

25. The financial report and accounts reflect UNICEF income, expenditure, assets and liabilities, including the net operating income, assets and liabilities of the greeting card and related operations.

The new Income and Employment Supports Act (IESA), implemented in 2004, enhances training opportunities for low income and vulnerable client groups, and expands benefits for clients moving into employment or training.

Revenues generated out of this single operation were as much as 3,151,920.

In some places, local people derive income from ecosystem services, such as ecotourism or environmental protection, but this is not common.

Employed women are showing significant improvements in their standard of education, but these improvements are not matched by gains in terms of employment.

Wage earners who become unemployed shall have the right to receive benefit from the Unemployment Benefit Fund according to the provisions of this Act.

(34) As regards non business income, it is required to make disclosure of the name of top five incomes and the amount incurred in current year and last year.

Revenue realized in the first half of the current biennium indicates that these multiple initiatives have successfully stabilized the long term decline in the revenue of the operation.

This rebalancing has helped to improve China s income distribution. Indeed, in recent years, labor s share of national income has been on the rise a direct reflection of the decline in manufacturing and expansion in services.

The ratio of regular resources income to total income decreased to 40 per cent in 2004 compared to 43 per cent in 2003 and 45 per cent in the financial plan.

Interest income is based only on amounts received and accrued from cash and term deposits relating to the financial period.

The 1996 accumulated unspent income of 10,755,362 was transferred to the operational reserve for a new total of 17,555,362 at the end of the current biennium.

Noting that the availability of microcredit and microfinance to people living in poverty, especially women, can support entrepreneurship and spur the development of microenterprises, providing goods, services and income to the poor, thus raising incomes and fostering equitable growth,

There have been reductions in the ratios of debt to gross national income and debt service to export earnings since 2000, due to strenuous efforts at repayment by developing countries and some debt relief.

All low and medium income workers can benefit, regardless of their assets or whether they have children.
