Some experts stressed the current low level of development and adoption of ICTs in developing countries and asked how ICTs could help them to improve their tourism development and the global visibility of tourism enterprises, particularly small tourism enterprises.

Experts made a number of specific recommendations to support internationalization of developing country enterprises, including SMEs, through OFDI.

The aim of the counselling allowances is to ensure that entrepreneurs have an opportunity to get entrepreneurial counselling from professional consultants on beneficial terms, to support the growth of enterprises and the creation of new jobs, to provide know how to entrepreneurs and to help entrepreneurs find new markets.

In some industrialized countries, these highways are reaching into homes and the premises of small and medium sized enterprises as well as the largest firms.

On the issue of ICT use by SMEs in developing countries, more attention should be given to the issue of technology transfer in order to address the lack of know how in this regard.

Experts shared the experiences of their countries regarding policy issues and programmes that support enterprise internationalization through OFDI.

The application of ICTs to enterprise development can be considered in two broad categories

This can occur, for example, where private entrepreneurs are prohibited from engaging in economic activities reserved for State monopolies.

Third, debts owed by agricultural enterprises to the State should be rescheduled and a special fund set up to provide them, on a competitive basis, with credit facilities and guarantees.

The information distribution system helps agricultural producers and rural entrepreneurs to find and understand information and provides regular feedback to the Ministry of Agriculture about the information needs of rural entrepreneurs.

Experts stressed the importance of the critical role of professional associations for SME development.
