The Section's work plan and objective setting matrix for 2004 were consistent with the terms of reference of the section.

To date, the Kaplan Project has resulted in three scientific, peer reviewed, publications, and it is expected that there will be more.

In order to gather additional information about the preparation of audited financial statements for claimants in this instalment, the Panel directed the secretariat to undertake a technical mission to Kuwait in December 2004 to meet with some of the auditing firms involved in the preparation of the accounts, with the Kuwait Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which licenses auditing firms, and with the Kuwait Association of Accountants and Auditors.

The Section included key indicators in its objective setting matrix for 2004 that were actions or objectives rather than tools to measure achievements.

During the December 2004 technical mission to Kuwait, the Kuwait Association of Accountants and Auditors and the Kuwait Ministry of Commerce and Industry advised that audited financial statements are not required for unincorporated establishments unless an individual holds more than five business licences, in which case consolidated audited financial statements must be prepared.

Input from representatives of women's NGOs would be reflected in a plan for new textbooks currently being drafted by the Ministry for Science, Education and Sport.

46. The Section currently has four support account posts one P 4 (Systems Accountant), two P 3 (Systems Accountant and Systems Engineer) and one P 2 (Systems Accountant).

Based on the analysis of the content of the class subjects, which are studied in primary and secondary schools in BiH, it is found that one can almost find no subject matter related to family planning.

Languages now, as a subject choice, are being held in the same regard as STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in independent school curriculums and elsewhere.

The President, with the consent of the Council, invited the representative of Côte d'Ivoire, at his request, to participate in the consideration of the item without the right to vote.

Planetary Society representatives, together with the representative from the Russian Academy of Sciences, visited Egypt in 1996 for discussions with the Ministry of Science and technical personnel to initiate the preliminary design study for the Mars drill.

45. It was encouraging to note that the European Commission, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the World Bank had already undertaken related projects.

It is envisaged that this project will lead to the development of a national Science and Technology Databank for the country.
