Women are entitled to maternity insurance, which includes a hospitalization grant, a maternity grant, a birth allowance and a maternity leave allowance.

Family allowances

In 2002, for example, the income thresholds for the Premium Subsidy program were increased, which made it easier for individuals and families to qualify for premium subsidy.

This benefit is administered by the State Social Security Institute under the Social Security Act 1993.

156. The sickness insurance also includes a rehabilitation benefit, which is granted to all groups insured, except individual farmers.

Rights covered by obligatory health insurance include the right to health care, subsidies, including subsidies of travel expenses related to use of health care.

Expenditures for rehabilitation benefits and compensatory allowances are covered from the Social Insurance Fund.

Cash benefits for maternity are also paid to all working mothers who are not entitled to maternity benefits from an insurance fund or are uninsured.

226. These benefits include the family allowance and the nursing allowance, as well as the child care allowance and the care allowance.

Both the household supplement and the special household supplement are administered by the State Social Security Institute under the Social Assistance Act 1993

D. Release 4 Payroll, time and attendance, insurance and rental subsidy

163. In the case of individual farmers, insured persons are entitled to a maternity allowance in an amount equal to the sickness allowance for a period of eight weeks.

Social insurance allowances

The State Social Security Institute also subsidizes motor vehicles and aid apparatus for the disabled.

They include periods spent looking after young children, periods of further education, periods in which contributions were not paid because social insurance allowances, etc., were being received.

The most common types include government grants, subsidized credit, government equity participation and insurance at preferential rates.

As far as support for large families is concerned, the Agricultural Insurance Organization (OGA), which operates as the authorized representative of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, grants the third child allowance, the large family mother allowance and life long pension.

4. Pension insurance (old age, invalidity, survivors apos and employment

At the macro level, social welfare is aimed at ensuring social security to those who are not affiliated to other systems, such as pension insurance systems or unemployment allowances.

Payment of child benefits, child benefit supplement and maternity subsidy

237. Care allowances are financed from the Social Insurance Fund.

Entitlements issues include leave, insurance, pension, education grant, mobility and hardship allowances, and other benefits.

If the female worker is protected by the social security laws, the employer shall be obliged to pay her one half of her wage and the Dominican Social Security Institute shall pay her a cash allowance equal to fifty percent of her wage.

On the whole, more than 8 million people have private health insurance coverage or other reimbursement claims as, for instance, under the civil servants apos subsidies scheme.

255. In 1993 expenditures financed from the central or local budgets included subsidies to social insurance and the Labour Fund, as well as health service costs.

150. Sickness allowances are the main social insurance benefit granted to all groups of people insured.

162. A lump sum confinement allowance is payable to insured persons in respect of a birth, at the rate of 12 per cent of average monthly remuneration.

Subsidies

The Social Security and Services Institute for State Workers (ISSSTE) provides the following benefits medical care sickness, maternity, old age invalidity survivors work accidents and family benefits.

It is payable at the rate of 100 per cent of remuneration for women workers, and for other groups of insured persons, at the rate of 100 per cent of the amount on which social insurance contribution was paid.

(iii) A second approach could be an agreement to remove all types of subsidies except those related to research and environmental protection.
