The Government of Japan has provided an associate research expert.

The substantive support to the work of the Council is provided by the members of the Board, the coordinators of the resource committees and other experts, including their sponsoring institutions, such as the PIOOM Foundation in the Netherlands, the University of Trento, the Lombardy region and Milan Provincial Administration and the International Coordinating Committee.

Paragraph 9 (d) of the LEG terms of reference also mandates the LEG to promote regional synergy.

23.30 The Deputy High Commissioner assists the High Commissioner in the overall direction and management of the Office.
