(ii) Development of a decentralized national network of distributed environment information systems in each of the 16 countries with the environment and or planning agency acting as the focal point

There is also a growing understanding among United Nations and other agencies that the principles of development programming need to be taken into account when planning relief programmes.

The Programme will also assist countries to strengthen drug control planning and coordinating institutions and to elaborate comprehensive, multisectoral national drug control strategies.

They are the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank).

Based on requests from countries, UNAIDS, the Global Fund, and the World Bank will support efforts at country level to define problems in the relationship between the single national AIDS coordinating authority and the Country Coordinating Mechanism, clarify principles, and disseminate good practices.

This provision is directed both towards the State and the agencies of the minority group.

The increasing importance of facilitating country level interactions between focal points of the Conventions and representatives of forest related institutions, through use of existing policy and planning mechanisms at the national level, such as national focal point agencies, was underlined.

The eighth International Conference of National Human Rights Institutions is planned to be held in the Americas in 2006.

OHCHR has strengthened its cooperation with UNDP, UNESCO, UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Volunteers programme (UNV), the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV AIDS (UNAIDS), the United Nations Division for the Advancement of Women, as well as the Agence intergouvernementale de la Francophonie and the Secretariat of the Commonwealth in its work of capacity building of NHRIs.

It is the principal intergovernmental body of the Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES) and meets every four years.

UNAIDS Secretariat, the Global Fund, and the World Bank to jointly report progress in responding to requests from countries to clarify the relationship between the single national AIDS coordinating authority and the Country Coordinating Mechanism to the June 2006 PCB.

UNDP is the lead agency for monitoring at the country level.

Pursuant to the plan, which was publicly launched on 27 October 2004, guidance materials are currently being drafted and planning for integrating broad based human rights programming into funding appeals (including Common Country Assessment and United Nations Development Framework (CCA UNDAF) and Consolidated Appeal Process (CAP)) at the agency and country levels has begun.
