We absolutely consider that this is a question of not only national but also international security.

Security Council resolution 1503 (2003) provides that all work of the ICTR and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) shall be completed by 2010.

Although safety is a national responsibility, international cooperation on this issue is indispensable.

There can be no doubt that, in accordance with the Charter, the primary responsibility in questions pertaining to international peace and security lies with the Security Council.

Latvia pays great attention to cooperating internationally on the issues of nuclear and radioactive safety and security.
