It should be noted that the Maldives is the only country experiencing an unpledged funding gap for tsunami recovery plans.

There is also a major funding gap in our national recovery and reconstruction programme.

The funding gap for the regular budget amounted to 8.7 million and the projects budget experienced a shortfall of 23 million.

The third gap is in conventional arms exports.

According to the prediction of the UK's Energy White Paper, there will be only one nuclear power station still in service in the UK by 2025, leading to major gaps in electric power supply.

Closing the Skills Gap

Other gaps include joint contingency planning, assessments and training.

It would be helpful if exporting countries would inform importing countries about licensed shipments and check that the clients are on the list of authorized importers, provided by the importing countries on a regular basis.

The shortage of disinfectants resulted from the lack of petroleum based commodities in the country, as the international sanctions imposed by the Security Council barred the importation of such products.
